The central element of the work of Marcin Strzelecki is a multimedia application born from his project entitled "radarmultitrack audiomachine". It is a software that attempts to simulate the formal process of traditional classical music (understood as a closed work) through a computerised process employing randomly calculated factors. The project is correlates to a previous project of Georgi Linkov who invited visitors to subtract elements: Marcin proposes to do the same thing, but in the opposite way. People will leave him their own sounds, similar to Linkov's project where people removed from the artworks individual visual elements. He noted that in Venice, there very little quality traditional composition after the fire at the Fenice except for tourist concerts. Instead, people in bars hear music of all kinds at all hours: Marcin intends to steal and manipulate this idea using the software he has programmed, as though it were a audio photograph of the actual city. |
