Nikos Kanarelis produced a video projection composed of three parts, each part videotaped by the artist to represent a part of his own body while he is walking. The body becomes fragmented and strangely involved in incomprehensible movements. It is also bound to the idea of walking, which is significant for two reasons: first of all it is the most common and inevitable activity in Venice; and secondly, since the days of religious pilgrimage, it is a way to find oneself, as the video demonstrates in both a literal and ironic sense. |
