Daniel Banaczek has reflected upon the minority groups living in Venice with respect to the majority of residents and tourists, in particular on their isolation with respect to the social lives of the others. His work is driven by this, and by sounds he has recorded in the city, and considers both of these aspects. Every performance is different because the mutable emotions of the actors who are asked to react, as well as the sounds that surround them, are different every time. His work has also involved Polish inmates of the Giudecca, with whom he has connected for a brief period, through interviews and informal meetings.
